How Can severe Swelling And Pain In The Wrist Be Treated?

i had my right hand resting on a pillow last night and all of a sudden it felt like someone pulled the tendon that runs by the inside of my wrist. i now have pain in the top wrist area and is swollen. i know that sounds crazy. my strength is not as strong in the hand, can t squeeze hand tight. i did not do anything at that time, just relaxing on the couch.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
It might be a tendon rupture. I recommend applying ice packs and taking an over the counter pain killer like Acetaminophen.
I would also suggest a visit to an orthopedic surgeon for tendon repair if needed.

Hope this answers your question. Thank you.
